Mariah Carey‘s new book The Meaning of Mariah is set to release on September 29, 2020, so she recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey once again, for the tenth time, to discuss…herself… but it’s not the same as when she spoken about herself ever before.
From the start of the interview, Mariah Carey begins with being able to release the inner child that she kept so hidden who finally needed a voice to express herself. She was glad to have the time and ability to “explain things in a layered way that with the complexities that they are has been really a motivating factor, and I’ve also…it’s been very therapeutic to do this also.”
When asked if she had long been afraid to say the things that she revealed in the book because of what family and others may think, Mariah answered:
“Yes… but it’s not because I was worried about what they would think. It’s because I would never have spoken a word about anybody in my life, and I try to be very fair…but people have drawn first blood with me historically. When there are people who are in anyway connected to you as a person who has achieved a certain level of success, you are a target, you’re vulnerable, but I wouldn’t have gone here if things hadn’t been done to me, if I hadn’t been dragged by certain people and treated as an ATM machine with a wig on. It’s all lemme get some money and lemme get some money no matter what.“
Interesting, isn’t it? It looks like there will be quite a few things that she will get off of her chest in this latest release, and we’re all for it.
