October 6th is the big day that Lenny Kravitz, rock star and son of actress Roxie Roker and television producer Sy Kravitz, will release his debut memoir titled LET LOVE RULE.
Recently, he interviewed with Michelle Miller of CBS Sunday Morning to discuss what his book is all about. One thing it isn’t about is being a rock star.
“I didn’t want the book to be about rock stardom, fame… any of that. This was about getting there, finding my voice.”Lenny Kravitz, CBS Sunday Morning interview
During the interview, Lenny gets into how his parents faced a tremendous amount of difficulty for being a mixed couple, both in race and faith, but in the end, there was nothing short of love. He even revealed what solidified his destiny as a musician – one single Jackson 5 concert.
“It transformed my life. The next day, I knew music was my life.”Lenny Kravitz, CBS Sunday Morning interview
It was after finding love with actress Lisa Bonet that he found his sound in music, and 11 albums later, here we all are about to delve into his book LET LOVE RULE, which is the same title of his debut album that he released back in 1989.
“We’re a family. We are one family. And that is what LET LOVE RULE is all about.”Lenny Kravitz, CBS Sunday Morning interview
