FROM THE STREETS OF SHAOLIN to CHANGES Are Two Hip Hop Biographies To Grab In June 2021

From S.H. Fernando, Jr, the author of The New Beats: Exploring the Music, Culture & Attitudes of Hip-Hop, comes the June 6, 2021 title FROM THE STREETS OF SHAOLIN: The Wu-Tang Saga.

From the Streets of Shaolin: The Wu-Tang Saga is a 528 page biography on one of the most popular hip hop groups of all time – The Wu-Tang Clan – which is composed of rappers such as RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard (deceased), Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Method Man.

The biography has utilized the unpublished interviews and intimate knowledge that SH Fernando Jr.’s had with Wu-Tang as he covered and followed them as a journalist, reconstructing their beginning and the group’s evolution, taking readers through their brotherhood, how they grew up as children and even self-empowerment of the men who made it against all odds and all the life choices that weren’t so great, one of those choices eventually leading to the death of a member.

Another hip hop biography that will release this Spring and Summer of 2021 take us back to the past at one rapper who took the entertainment industry by storm in hip hop and acting, however, lost his life violently in the middle of the street after being shot – Tupac Shakur. Changes: An Oral History of Tupac Shakur is to release on June 8, written by Sheldon Pearce.

This particular biography will take readers a bit deeper into the life of Tupac, outside of the big names who associated with him, but instead, gaining insight from lesser known people who knew him from childhood and even saw his acting talent when he was twelve years old. There will also be interviews provided from a Death Row Records exec who has never spoken on Tupac before on record.
