Businessman and motivational speaker Chris Gardner, whom may be recognized immediately by the movie based on his life, starring Will Smith, titled “The Pursuit of Happyness”, has released a brand new book this month titled Permission to Dream.
Permission to Dream is a unique, narrative nonfiction book from a very unique man who made his dreams a reality, going from rags to riches and purpose. The book follows his life as a grandfather along with his small granddaughter as he encourages her to follow her dreams as well as his own while also revealing the secrets to doing so in what he calls The New Three R’s – the Rep, the Rap and the Rolodex.
The Rep is about earning a excellent reputation.
The Rap is about marketing oneself and being a great communicator.
The Rolodex are your relationships, and in Chris Gardner’s words – “relationships can make things happen that money cannot”.
Recently, Chris Gardner interviewed with Fox 7 about his new book, co-written with Mim Eichler Rivas, and in the interview he talks about why one doesn’t need to search for “external validation” because “we must all be engaged in a passionate pursuit to the nth degree.”
