A man of much passion and vigor, author and activist Luis Sepulveda has passed away due to complications caused by the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. According to El Pais, he was the first man infected with coronavirus in the area known as Asturias in Spain. He then went into a coma where he continued to fight for his life, and on April 16th, passed away.
Sepulveda was a well known political activist who published a multitude of short stories and poems, his first novel being The Old Man Who Read Love Stories. Aside from that, he had a life full of purpose, following his passions, even if it meant being arrested multiple times. Through those arrests, he would always find a way of escape, even with the help of the international community.
Not only was he an author and activist, but he was a director of two films and writer of four. Luis Sepulveda left us at the age of 70. RIP.
