Author James Patterson Donates Books To Middle School Children & More Funding For Teachers

Sixth graders were surprised with a huge James Patterson giveaway at Congress Middle School after he donated 30,000 books to Palm Beach County.

Below are some tweets about the occasion, and it looks like all went well after sixth graders were given Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life and seventh graders got to walk away with another Patterson book titled Maximum Ride: The Angle Experiment.

James Patterson is a big giver, and this won’t be his only gift to schools and libraries. It is reported that he will also donate 1.75 million to school libraries in 2017 for his School Library Campaign while over 3000 teachers will get grants of $500 for their own classroom libraries. This is in partnership with the popular Scholastic Reading Club.
